Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan is one of the most versatile and influential actors in the Indian film industry. He is known for his selective approach to film projects and his ability to take on diverse roles that challenge his acting abilities. He has acted in a variety of genres, including drama, romance, action, comedy, and thriller films.

The types of films Aamir khan has directed/produced are often socially relevant and thought-provoking. He has starred in several films that deal with issues such as education, social inequality, corruption, and gender equality. Some of his notable films include “Lagaan,” “Rang De Basanti,” and “Dangal.” I chose Aamir Khan to conduct a research on because his work is similar to my opening sequence, ‘PREJUDICE’ which also deals with a social issue – gender inequality.
The common settings that are usually seen in Aamir Khan’s Films are set in modern-day in India, although he has also acted in period dramas and films set in different parts of the world. His films often showcase the diverse cultures and customs of India and aim to highlight the country’s social issues. Inspired by this, I also want to somewhat represent Pakistan in my opening sequence, thus I am planning to make Esha wear traditional clothes.
For the plot, Aamir Khan’s films usually have a strong plot that focuses on the character’s journey and growth. He often plays the role of an underdog who faces challenges and overcomes them with determination and hard work. His films also focus on the relationships between characters and how they effect each other’s lives. Inspired by this, my opening sequence will also emphasize the relationship between the family members (Esha, Ammar and their mother.)
Aamir Khan films often have a realistic and naturalistic style. The mise-en-scene is used to create a sense of authenticity, and the locations and sets are often designed to reflect the character’s socio-economic background. His films also use lightings and camera techniques to enhance the emotional impact of the scenes.
Aamir Khan’s films often use familiar codes and conventions of Indian cinema, such as music and dance sequences, melodrama, and romantic subplots. However he also challenges these conventions by infusing his films with social commentary and critical themes. He has also produced films that experiment with narrative structures and visual styles, such as “Talaash” and “Secret Superstar.”
Overall Amir Khan’s films are known for their quality, depth, and social relevance. He is considered one of the most influential actors in Indian cinema and has made a significant contribution to the development of the Indian cinema as a whole.
Kim Cheol-Kyu

Kim Cheol-Kyu is one of the most creative directors in the history of k-dramas. His unique concepts consist of the way he starts his dramas: with the use of non-linear storytelling technique, for example in episode 1 of ‘Flower of Evil’, Baek Hee-Sung is shown drowning with his hand and feet tied. This later connects in episode 5 when he gets kidnapped. This catches the attention of viewers as they are intrigued by it.

Kim Cheol-Kyu has the ability and style that is able to hold back the viewers till the end of his series. It’s been noticed that the pacing, mood, and intrigue of a drama are set by the director, with enough push and pull between mystery and revelation.
He uses a wide range of camera angles that can help capture every emotion present within a film, making the audience feel the same emotions as the characters.

One of his unique shooting techniques is using lines or most of the time an object to establish a conflict or fight between two or more characters. In episode 1, Moo-Jin realizes that Ji-Wons husband Hee-Seong is actually Do-Hyun Su, the son of the serial murderer.

Another technique includes using boxing, also known as framing to show the splitting between characters. In episode 9, Ji-won tells Hee-seong that she does not love him anymore. It is to be noticed that they are framed separately to show the heartbreak between them.

In this more frontal shot Ji-won and Hee-seong are still framed separately but there is also a line between them.

Inspired by these methods, I will be using objects such as doors to showing conflict between two characters, Esha and Ammar.
After this masterpiece he received lots of attention from his viewers which was a humongous gain in his popularity. He also won the award for the best director in 2021 on 57th Baeksang arts awards on May 13.
